Marauder

From the very start, the Marauder has exceeded the expectations of the designer, builders and RES pilots around the country. Marauder was introduced in 2003 for pilots who had been demanding… and waiting for… a traditional wooden sailplane with the performance and feel of composite gliders costing three times as much. Builders and pilots wanted an "old school" RES ship that had the aerodynamics to compete with the exotic composite gliders, a wooden heart, and the soul of a winner. They looked to MM Glidertech to make this dream into reality… and the rest is history!
The all-wood Marauder was designed with several intelligent key features for a competitive edge. The high-aspect tail, lots of wing area and the proven E-195 airfoil maximize both performance and handling. The un-cambered fuselage line provides lower drag at high speed as well as racy looks. A massive 80 square inches of (split or top only optional design) spoiler area easily lands the Marauder on target every time. The Marauder is thoughtfully designed to use inexpensive standard size radio gear. The polyhedral break and removable tip panels are at different locations, making the aircraft strong enough for high power launches at the same time as being easier to build.

The Marauder has given wood sailplane enthusiasts the contest-winning performance and top-notch handling of composite models. Marauders often beat the composite sailplanes in contests, to the cheers of nostalgia and wooden sailplane enthusiasts. This is a glider which carries on the time-honored traditions and enjoyment of the classic RES "Woody", but doesn’t give up anything in competition. Despite easy handling and predictable manners suitable for even beginning RES flyers, the Marauder’s contest results speak for themselves:
