Hornet

LiL Hornet was designed in response to two separate questions:
  • "What would be the very least amount of time and complexity needed to build a worthwhile R/C model?", and
  • "What if you cross-bred the new slow flyer and parkflyer concepts with the wild aerobatic (fun-fly) models?"
MM Glidertech's LiL Hornet answers both questions.
This full-acro parkflyer uses innovative ultra-light foam wing skins and a balsa spar, yielding a thick symmetrical wing at minimum weight. The unfinished balsa stick fuselage and sheet tail surfaces keep airframe weight and build time to an absolute minimum. Simple vacuform plastic parts create the radio tray/fuselage pod in just a few minutes.
Building time (less glue drying time) is less than five hours. All kits come with a geared power system that delivers enough zip for nearly unlimited aerobatics and ROG takeoffs from hard surface. Deluxe kits also include BEC speed control and battery.

Recommended radio is micro 3 or 4 channel. We recommend the Focus 3 with HS55s from Hitec RCD. We also recommend running only two servos (Hitec HS-55 recommended) and speed control to save weight and complexity.

The LiL Hornet is not a beginner's model. We do not recommend using a "hot" motor. The airframe is not structured to withstand extreme G-forces. We also have Assembly Instructions for the MG-1 motor.

Retail price of the standard LiL Hornet kit, including the MG-1 motor, is $54.95.
